Suggestions For June Holiday Programme
The programme could be of any kinds such as One Day Local Tour, Courses, Fun Learning Activities, Sibu Kelong Trip (if you had missed the March ones...) or just any Interesting or Crazy ideas that you would like to share and enjoy by other people and we're would try to plan it for you or to let you to spearhead it so that we can slag (hehehe... Lolz....)

Sibu Kelong is located in the middle of Sibu Sea (part of South China Sea) along the coast of Eastern Johor before Mersing,
with Pulau Sibu being the nearest island. Sibu Kelong, which is operated by Singaporeans, is far away from any fault earth plates’ lines, earthquake zones and tsunami disasters. It is extremely safe and has been around since 1990. The nearest jetty is Tanjung Leman Jetty, which is approximately a 2.5 hours drive from Singapore’s Woodland Checkpoint and a 25 minutes boat ride from Sibu Kelong. The bus will depart from the Tampines Changkat CC at 6.30am sharp (Reporting time: 6am) and will arrive Singapore on the evening of 9th March 2008.Kelong’s Activities & Highlights

Fishing Advisory
A variety of fishes are commonly found in the Sibu Kelong’s vicinity such as Seklahs, Kunings, Kambong, Garoupa, Todak (Gar Fish), Barracudas, Cobias, Sting Rays, Squids and many more. Tamban hook sized 5 and above and orange or red-coloured Squid Jigs sized 3 to 4 are recommended. Weight sizes differ depending on the sea’s current.Anglers should refrain from over-fishing (keeping catches beyond consumption), throwing of rubbish into the sea and keeping of non-consumptionable catch. Catches should be handled delicately to minimise stress and injury, especially for the non-consumptionable catch that must be released back into the sea.
Travel Advisory & Caution
Water Safety
Due to the nature of the Kelong’s environment and set–up, participants are strongly advised to exercise caution over their own and their child’s safety at all times. Children are advised not to run or wonder alone on the Kelong’s fishing platform. Parents should consistently keep a lookout about the whereabouts for their children at all times.
Valuable Items & Cash
Participants are refrained from bringing valuable items or excess cash along.
Additional Travel Insurance
Participants are encouraged to take up addition insurance coverage if deemed necessary.
Passport’s Validity & Overseas Trip Notification
Participants are to ensure that their passports are valid for travel. National Service Pre–Enlistee/NSF/NSman is strongly advised to apply for an online Overseas Trip Notification with MINDEF through http://www.ns.sg/ after agreeing to the terms and conditions.
No Pork Allowed in Sibu Kelong
Sibu Kelong’s operator strictly bans any pork products to be brought or consumed within their premises.
Personal Equipments
Participants are allowed to bring in a few of the following personal lightweight equipments such as fishing equipments.
Terms & Conditions
Participants have until 25th February 2008 to seek refund should they do not wish to continue with the trip. No Refund shall be entertained after 25th February 2008. Similarly, No Refund shall be entertained should participants miss the bus on the 8th March 2008. The trip bookings are non-transferable due to the insurance registration.
